Born in Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, Lena Horne was known for her, beauty, grace and her vocal talents.
Passing on Sunda, May 9, 2010, Mrs. Horne will be missed. Her performances speak for themselves. She was one of the first African-American women who signed a major contract with a movie house. her contract stipulated that she would not have to play a maid.
