A group called ByMomsForMoms, sponsored by Lansinoh, created the Healthy baby Bounty Bag for new mommies to take home from the hospital. Most bags are normally full of formula and coupons for formula. The special bags from By Moms for Moms are full of goodies that support moms in breastfeeding. Since the initial 200 hospitals began giving away the bags, tons other moms nationwide have been asking for them.
I am excited by this group’s tenacity to change what has been since I can remember, the formula bag. ByMomsForMoms has created a letter you can download, date, and sign, then either print it out or e-mail it to your local hospital. The letter gives a brief overview of the cost of the bag, its contents and why it is important to have the bag available for new mothers. While I see this is a giant promotion for the Lansinoh company, I am in support of their marketing products that support a woman in nurturing her children in a healthy and natural manner.
Tackling the issue of health-care professionals’ support of breastfeeding is one of the most important ones in the quest to increase breastfeeding’s incidence and duration rates in this country. Spreading the Healthy Baby Bounty Bag to all 3,500 U.S. hospitals where babies are born is the ultimate goal. If we succeed, it could be the brightest spot in the history of breastfeeding. We hope that you will be a part of this movement.
Please follow the links to ByMomsForMoms and send a letter to your nearest hospital. Thanks, your support of women, will go a long way.
