New York City Cop Shoots Another NYC Police Officer NYT Article

Cop Ignores Football Player’s Pleas

I am so confused. I have no context for this kind of human interaction. The violence and cruelty involved on so many levels is hurtful to my sense of justice and moral uprightness. So why are we seeing more of these kinds of interactions? Are we being imprinted with the vision of brutality towards black men? What is the importance of readying our minds  to accept the image as normal on some level?  Why would any one want to make aggression against Black men normal? There is a Black man and his family living in the White House so why are black men increasingly becoming the target of white male aggression especially while doing their jobs? Why? I am starting to see a pattern. Are you seeing the pattern too? What can be done? Are out dated and archaic attitudes re-surging? Did they ever go away? How can people who see all Black men as dangerous and criminal have their minds reprogrammed? What does this mean for our president? How do we prepare our children and especially Black boys everywhere, who at not fault of their own are deemed to be criminal and whipping boards and attract such over the top reactions?

My mind races with questions and seeks answers.

I am going to throw the ball into the opposite court. We love our men as well as ourselves. We are upstanding citizens and are innocent until proven guilty. I challenge people who hold the antithesis to be true accountable for what has been occurring and has always occurred. But now it is imperative that a solution be found. This backward White Supremacist thinking never was acceptable and can not be allowed to continue. I challenge everyday people who are White Supremacist (both black & white) to address their behavior.

wow! this is an excellent blog Adiaha. I have those same questions running through my mind as well. Do you feel these situations are symbolism for black woman to embrace, understand and love our black men more? As far as standing up and trying to protect our men from this? I ask what does this mean for our young black men?
