I do not subscribe to cable television. While I am fond of some television, most TV is surreal and hard for me to understand. There are a few exceptions and when I want to see these shows, I usually do one of the following.
Hulu is an online service which allows you to watch TV online. There are a good selection of programs and it is nice to find a great many TV shows and older popular movies at one url.There are adds during television shoes but they are each only 30 seconds although they come on relatively often during the program. You can choose to create an account or you can watch videos with out doing so. However, there are age restrictions on movies and to protect viewers and themselves, some movies require you be logged in to view the film. They also offers movies in HD.
Go directly to the website of the sponsoring channel. Most channels these days list the latest show the day after it first premieres on TV. This can be done for paid premium channels as well. My favorite TV show is WEEDS.
Find the program being streamed for free. This can sometimes prove to be difficult. During last years season of Weeds, I became a right expert at finding the sites, despite them moving urls, and being hijacked by the FCC.
I hope that you are able to find things that you want to watch at no extra cost to you. The hunt itself can be fun as I discovered when I streamed High School Musical for my daughter.
